From our friend, Paul (the Loomer) Henick
The story is simple - a bunch of folks in the Richmond area get together for dinner at a local restaurant once a month. Selection is usually by popular vote, with location rotated North/South of the river. We look for good food at places where someone has previously dined OC without problems. Although there are "core" places we are always looking for new places to meet and eat. We are also always looking for more folks to join us - while most of us OC, there is no requirement that anyone even own a gun to participate.
The dining experience consists of three (3) phases: 1) the before-dinner clustering near the entrance for greetings and gossip, 2) dinner, with recounting of the OMG faces/looks as we proceeded to our table as well as general conversation such as can be had with so many folks around 1 table, and 3) the after-dinner discussion. The after-dinner conversation is usually the best. Ask why several members of the group make sure to have at least a few quarters in teir pocket when they go out - it has nothing to do with pay phones or newspaper boxes.
Public education about guns, the folks who carry guns, and the laws about carrying guns, all accomplished without having to lift more than a dinner fork.
stay safe.
